This Day: Collected & New Sabbath Poems by Wendell Berry
Dear ones,
Spring is really here…! It is heartening to see the buds of soft yellows and greens, the abundant daffodils and other flowers making their way up through old leaves and earth, bird song and new life beginning again. It does feel like we have been through a long winter in so many ways. The uncertainty of the country and the personal challenges some of us have encountered, from illness to surgery to loss and just making it through our long wintertime. I hope that being a part of our dear All Souls community, and making it to a circle lunch or dinner, worship services, Vernal Equinox celebration, opportunities to deepen our connections and support each other has brought inspiration and comfort.
Our Welcome Spring Fair is happening on Saturday, May 2nd and we can All help to spread the word to invite community to attend! We will be set up outdoors with our tents and so many incredible handmade crafts and cards, plants and treats to sell. It has become another of our signature fundraisers to lift our spirits and bring in funding for All Souls. Gratitude to Kathy and Marty, and Everyone involved!
We have our Annual Meeting on Sunday, May 17th – an opportunity to honor and celebrate our year just finished, members to vote on our budget, bylaws and to affirm the Covenant of Mutual Commitment in anticipation of my Installation Service on Saturday, June 13th!
I hope that some of you might be able to attend the Praise! Sacred Bodies Storytelling Workshop on Saturday, May 23rd at 2 PM that we are co-hosting with Sandglass Theater. There are two choreographers coming up from NY to lead the experience, one of whom I danced with at the Flynn Theatre decades ago! They will weave our stories with movement, honoring our individual and collective experiences to heal and celebrate. Please reach out to me if you have questions and want to learn more, or if you need support in covering the workshop fee.
I am grateful and honored to be completing my sixth year serving this dear and amazing congregation. Ministry is all that we do, together. Let us take gentle care of yourselves and each other, reaching out to offer and receive support and inspiration, feeling the gratitude within and beyond us.
Gratitude for the gifts of all the living and the unliving, gratitude which is
the greatest gift, quietest of all, passes to me through the trees.
Blessings,
Rev. Telos
