Frequently Asked Questions

How do we come and see the building before our event?  You are welcome to visit the building, look at the spaces and ask any questions. However, please call before coming.  The church office telephone number is (802) 254-9377.  If you would like a guided tour, please call the church office and arrange an appointment.  The church office is open Tuesday through Friday from 8:30 A.M.  until 12:30 P.M. and appointments can be made outside these hours.

How do we reserve the building for our event?  The facility is reserved once you deliver the  security deposit and a signed Rental Agreement.  The security deposit is due at signing of the Rental Agreement, and is not included in the full payment of the rental fee. Full payment of the Rental Fee is typically due 14 days in advance of the event.

 Is there a security deposit?

Yes, the security deposit serves as the deposit needed to reserve the space. The security deposit for a one-time rental is $100.00 and is not included in the full payment of the rental fee. It will be returned to you soon after your event after any deductions are taken for cleaning services, damages or amounts otherwise due under the Rental Agreement. The security deposit for a recurring rental will be negotiated and included in the Rental Agreement.

What if we cancel?

You will receive a refund of the security deposit depending on the amount of prior notice you give:

30 days before the event: full refund

14-29 days before the event: 75% refund

If you cancel after paying the Rental Fee, you will receive the Rental Fee back.

What if All Souls cancels?

All Souls Church reserves the right and responsibility to delay or postpone an event due to inclement weather that poses a risk to guests arriving or leaving the West Village Meeting House, or for any other reason relating to the safety or suitable comfort and utility for the rented purpose. In such an event, you have the option of receiving a full refund of paid fees or rescheduling the event for a date within the next 12 months at no additional charge.

Can we serve alcohol?

Yes, however, no hard alcohol is permitted, only beer, wine, and champagne may be served and, due to issues of liability and legality, alcohol can only be served by a licensed caterer.   Please be advised that meeting this requirement is the responsibility of the renter and may take some time to arrange.  An Alcohol Permission Form must be completed.
