WORSHIP SERVICE SUNDAY, APRIL 7th: “THOSE WHO NEED US THE MOST” WITH KAREN TYLER
Join us on this first Sunday of the month as we welcome Interim

Director Scott Aronowitz of the Boys and Girls Club of Brattleboro, with

whom we will be sharing our offerings for the month of April. Scott will

talk about how the organization inspires and assists the young people of

our community to realize their future potential, and how we can help.

Sunday’s anthem:   We Shall be known

We shall be known by the company we keep

By the ones who circle round to tend these fires

We shall be known by the ones who sow and reap

The seeds of change alive from deep within the Earth

—from the album, “Prayers for Freedom”

Wholeheartedly fed by the folk and gospel traditions, MaMuse (Sarah Nutting and Karisha Longaker) create uplifting music to inspire the world into thriving. Interweaving brilliant and haunting harmony with lyrics born of honed emotional intelligence, MaMuse invokes a musical presence that inspires the opening of the heart. http://www.mamuse.org/

COMMUNITY OUTREACH/ SOCIAL JUSTICE

Dear all,

Church member Ian Hefele reached out from ECDC (Ethiopian Community Development Council. The large family of 7 did move into their apartment last Monday, and they grateful for the Donations! And, there are additional large families that will be moving into places soon so, donations are still needed… Sets of Twin XL (not standard twin) sheets, Larger comforters for twin sized beds would also be a huge help as well as NEW pillows. We also need cooking supplies- pots, pans, sharp cutting knives, electric kettles, baking sheets, can openers, etc. We could also use furniture- particularly dining room table sets, end tables, arm chairs, and coffee tables. Finally we could use lamps with working lightbulbs and cleaning supplies (trash bins and bags, dish soap, all-purpose cleaner, sponges, etc.).

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Let the old snow be covered with the new:

The trampled snow so soiled, stained and

sodden.

Let it be hidden wholly from our view

By pure white flakes, all trackless and untrodden.

When Winter dies, low at Spring’s sweet feet

Let him be mantled in a clean white sheet.

Let the old life be covered by the new:

The old past life so full of sad mistakes,

Let it be wholly hidden from the view

By deeds as white and silent as snowflakes.

Ere this earth life melts into the eternal Spring

Let the white mantle of repentance fling

Soft drapery about it, fold on fold,

Even as the new snow covers up the old.
